My furnace went out and while getting estimates, 2 companies told me that the coil I had on my 1 yr. old AC was not a Trane coil but an ADP SA7414, model #EC1P36BG-1. That is not the 4TXCB036A Trane coil listed on the specs. Also, they tell me I don't have a 13 SEER unit but a 10 SEER. Is it usual to substitute those coils? Am I getting only 10 SEER? Thanks for your help.

I have seen ADP coils with Trane units and no ill effects. Seer question is beyond my ability to gather info. Trane info sure, ADP can't get it.

If you did not receive the proper equipment per the written paperwork and you never signed off on a change then you need to contact the company and have them either install the right equipment or pay your money back simple as that. What was your other question oh yeah the ADP coil, well it may be equal but if your paperwork listed the trane part then that is what must be installed. start with a certified letter to the company CEO and make sure that you state what you want as a remedy (Equipment per paperwork) they will probably be right out to trade you out for the proper stuff no problemo. Ole boys that installed it probably just forgot to put the right stuff in happens all the time man.
