I have a sensor in our door that is not tripping the alarm. The system recognizes the sensor and acknowledges when the door is open but I can't get the sensor to sound the alarm. Does anyone know what I should do? The sensor is installed in the door jam.

Are you waiting for the delay? Entry doors typically have a 45-60 second delay in arming. That seems like a long time when you are standing there.

my mom and dad had the same problem with adt, except it was a motion detector. there were 4 of us walking around in front of it and then after about 20 mins it finally went off when somewhen went right in front of it. finally worked. it has been giving false alarms like crazy and adt doesnt want to come fix it... so there going to go with a different company. being as they go down south over the winter months, they want the system working.
