Wallpaper and Wallcoverings - Bathroom wallpaper removal

Does anyone know of a good way to remove wallpaper from a bathroom wall? We own a two family and are trying to renovate the bathroom in one of the apartments, but the border that the previous owners put up in the bathroom is pretty much cemented to the wall (or so it seems). We're at our wits end.

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Score the face of the border with either an utility knife or even better one of those cutting 'wheels' made for scoring paper - they prevent you from cutting too deep.

The adhesive should soften when it gets wet, making removal easier........ although wall paper removal is rarely fun.

Instead of using the wallpaper removal solution that you find at the home improvement store try using liquid fabric softner. I used 1 part fabric softner to 1 part water, but I've read that using less fabric softner works as well. After you score the wallpaper, using a spray bottle apply the fabric softner/water, let the fabric softener absorb into the paper, and then scrape with a putty knife. I removed 3 layers with relative ease........it also makes the room smell fresh and clean.

Along with the fabric softener and water in the spray bottle, if you add some pinesol to the mixture as well, it will help to weigh the water down so that it soaks into the paper more instead of the water running straight down the wall.
Some borders you can peel the top layer of vinyl off first without the solution and then spray the backing paper.
