Hi, I just got a couple x10 wall rocker switches (WS12A/RWS17) so I could turn on/off certain lights with my remote using the Ademco Lynxr-EN. I wired up the wall switch, and it does turn on/off the light manually, but I can't get the Lynxr-EN to turn it on/off.

I have no idea how I'm supposed to program it with *80. Do light switches even need to be programmed individually through *80 or is it supposed to work automatically?

Pressing the Light On and Off button on the panel doesn't do anything.

Anyone successfully get x10 light switches to work with the Lynxr?

First, this is assuming that you have the power line carrier transformer for your system installed (1332x10).

This stuff does not work automatically, you have to program it in the *80 menu. Each switch has to be entered individually with the system actions you want to activate it.

Yeah it's got the powerline carrier transformer wired up correctly according to the manual.

So how do I program each switch with the *80 menu? The manual doesn't give much info on how to program it.

Each light switch has a unit (1,2,3, etc.), and house code (A,B,C,D,E). The *80 menu only sets up a single digit code for each unit and doesn't have any option to program a house code and unit code. And what exactly should be the settings for each *80 submenu? Since the lights aren't being used in response to an alarm or a list of transmitters, most of the *80 submenus will be 00 from my understanding.

And what house code should I be using on the unit. I doubt it'd correspond to the House Code that the alarm panel uses for wireless panels since that house code can be in the double digits.

Thanks for any help.

My whole house is controlled by ActiveHome and I have just had a wireless ADEMCO LYNXR security system installed. The AH interface controls the modules and I simply want to use my LYNX panel to manually control the modules.
I have the installers manual and know I need to use the*80 Mode. Is there a "cliff notes" version to do this?
Thanks...

The house code gets set in *25 (which might be enough for the light switch buttons to work)

Set your house code then exit programming with *99.

Enter [function (the # key)] + [lights on (the 4 key)] + [device number] to turn it on. The same sequence with the lights off key to turn a light off.

If you are trying to make it work using a keyfob button, then you need *80 (I misunderstood you original question).

Thanks.. it will not accept the installer code (4112) so I assume I need to contact the installer to discuss this issue.

If the house code is 05, then what should be the house and unit code for the light switches? The light switches have house codes A, B, C, etc., and unit codes 1, 2, 3, etc. I did set my house code on the light switches to E to match the panel house code of 05, but no go.

Still not sure I'm setting things up correctly and whether light switches need to be programmed in the *80 menu. I do know I have the transformer wired correctly since it's pretty straightforward.

If you look at the installer manual, In my copy (K5963V2 3/04 Rev. A), on page 15, the chart for *25 the correct entry for a house code of E is a 4.

You only bother with *80 if you want the devices to work automatically when a zone changes state, or for a system operation action. (Keyfob buttons are linked to specific zone numbers, for example).

I successfully programed my house code with the 3 confirming beeps but there is no response to turning modules on from the panel. Is there a necessary adjustment inside the panel?

No, there is no magic voodoo, Sailorbuoy.

If you set the Lynxr to match your house code, and you have the powerline carrier transformer for the system hooked up correctly, the basic on and off command should work.

Thanks...I talked to the installer and he mentioned the "in line" issue but there is no problem with the X10 interface controlling the modules so I don't see that being a consideration. He gave me Ademco's # but they offer no homeowner end user help, only recommend a service call.
