I have a holiday living tree that won't stay upright because the tapered trunk bottom only fits into the stand less than an inch so it easily tips over, no matterhow hard you tighten the eye bolts. Any suggestions out there?

Get a bigger stand or trim the trunk to fit.

You can place shims between trunk and eye bolts to make up the needed thickness to secure the trunk in the stand.

Use fishing mono-filament line to the main trunk, place the tree so that it leans away from the wall, attach the line to hooks, or screws at an angle to keep it from tipping.
Ensure the line is not any sort of a hazard. Place it behind the tree where no one can lean into it.
