This thing is getting the better of me.

I installed a model 700 three years ago. Due to space I had to install the unit on the return side but did use the hot water supply. I used the manual setting (no outside temp sensor). The first year it was great and would actually condense the windows rather easily and I could easily get 40-50%. I have a Gerneral Air relay that detects the blower on so I could just turn the blower on 24x7 for the first day to speed the humidification up.
The next year I washed the pad and re-installed and it still worked but not nearly as well. This year I installed a new pad (paint side up) and am getting zero humidity.
I have verified the water is going over the filter and the fan is running. I also don't see any obvious leaks on the return side that would be drawing fresh air.

According to Aprilair the water output at the drain should be 1 quart in 2-5 minutes. Mine was nowhere near this so as a test I removed the restrictor orifice completely and then got that high water output but still no humidity.

When it was working I could put the hygrometer at a vent and it would climb. Right now it actually goes lower than the ambient house (16%, house is 19%, outside is 24% @ 40F)

Sorry for the long read

If you are seeing water flowing and everything appears to be working, I would start to second-guess your hydrogemeter.

You can probably pick one up for a few bucks at almost any hardware store or even a Walgreens or Rite-Aid, etc.

If you get close can you hear the water running?

Also, are you sure you put your filter in properly.

I also think this is a powered fan model, but I am not 100% sure. If it is, is your fan still powered and running? It might be letting the water run but if that fun isn't working you won't get a whole lot of humidity out of this thing without moving air.

Thanks,

The fan in the unit is working and I'm sure the water is as well as I have a clear drain tube. I got a second Hygrometer last night and will continue to monitor.
