My grand parent house have a gas heat furnace, the pilot light went off coulpe time for the last 2 weeks. it goes off 3or 4 days after i lit it up and it do that couple times already some time it goes off at night and they stay cold until the next morning.......... Please what it seem to be a prolem?

Possible problem with the thermocouple. Look at the pilot light when it is lit; there should be a small probe-like piece mounted with it's tip in the flame. Make sure the pilot light flame is hitting the thermocouple. The thermocouple itself could be bad.

Must be a older unit if it uses a standing pilot. Why don't you be a good grandbaby and have them a nice new gas furnace installed for the holidays?
