I am planning to install a HE220A humidifier in my Carrier Furnace . I have a T in my water pipe with a valve already in it.
My question is can I connect the water feed pipe to this T and have it open all the way or should I use the supplied valve with the HE220A?

Also, I can see I have a HUM connector on the main board, so can I just connect the humidistat directly to it or should I do it via transformer?

Thanks

Go ahead and use that T, and open the valve all the way. If this hasn't been used for awhile, i would suggest to open the valve into a bucket to flush out any junk.

depends on what the model is, chances are it's low voltage and transformer is not needed.. But please do post the model#.
