I installed a Honeywell HE360A Humidifier and a humidstate H8909B a few days ago and the humidifier only turns on when it is set to the on setting. It will not work if I set the H-stat to a specific setting? Did I wire it Wrong? I wired the H-Stat black wires to the yellow humidifier wires and the humidifier to an electrical box.

Thanks,

Ryan

a humidstate H8909B
Is this a correct model? I can not come up with any info on this humidistat.

the humidifier only turns on when it is set to the on setting.

since I am not able to pull up any info on the humidistat, there a switch to "ON" mode, and/or set point?

Ok, that is a basic humidity stat, and if yo have it set say, 40%, and the house is already about that set point, it will not run untill the humidity in the home goes below the set point.

So, it's not going to be "ON" all the time.. just when humidity is needed in the home.

Are you using a sail switch or A50 relay, or how are you controlining it to run only when the furnace is running?

I am using a sail switch but I am thinking of hard wiring it to my furnance. My furnance panel has two HUM hook-ups. One is 24 HUM and the other is 115 HUM. Do you know which one I use? It is a Heil furnance and the model is N9MP.

Thanks for the help.

You want the 115v HUM, then you can wire an outlet to that, and plug the 360 right to that out let, and sail switch is no longer needed.

Thank you very much for the help.

What do your reccommend for wire - 12 awg or 14 awg?

Thanks

14 is fine, but if you have 12 laying around, that can be used.
