I have a GMC mower with a Briggs & Stratton motor. I recently took the air filter off to clean it and since then it will only run for about 30 seconds with the filter on. I took the filter off today to try it and it ran for about a minute. I couldn't see any obstructions and the choke mechanism appeare to be functioning normally. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Was it running alright prior to cleaning the air filter?

Post the model type and code numbers from your engine if possible. They should be located on the engine shroud usually over the area of the spark plug or muffler, or if it's an OHV engine they may be stamped into the valve cover.
