I want to replace a Fluidmaster # 555C flapper w/ a new one.
When I pull up on the sealant ring to remove flapper--will
it give me any problems ?????????

It shouldn't. May need to use some solvent to clean the old stuff off. Why not replace the flush valve assy instead? More work, but better repair.
btw, why do you need to replace the seat, can't you just get a new flapper?

Too lazy to take tank apart............... :)
Sealant ring is leaking................ :eek:
Overflow tube will not take std. flapper................... :eek::eek:
I don't lift or bend too good these days ------- :eek::):)
but the sun is shinning.......................:thumbup::thumbup:

j HOWARD: Fluidmaster makes whats called a flusher-fixer, it comes with a new flapper and new seat, they are installed with epoxy. Luck.:)

Yes they do---it's called a # 555C & the epoxy is called
a sealant ring..........................:)

You are right---------99% comes off w/ a hard pull--
alcohol cleanes it up...................... :)
