I've installed a Honeywell HE360A, H8908B humidistat and sail switch on my furnace but for the life of me cannot figure out how to wire this thing up. The DVD shows the wiring for a 260. The included instructions seem to make something that should be easy quite complicated. Can anyone tell me exactly how to wire these pieces together?

What do you have for a furnace?
But since You've already installed the sail switch, you just plug the power cord into the out let.
Then one of the yellow wire from the humidifier, run that to the sail switch.
Other side of sail switch to the humidistat.
Other wire from humidistat goes to the other yellow wire on humidifier.

Thanks for the quick reply Jay. Maybe I'm making this harder than it needs to be. Here's how I understand it based on the DVD and the instructions:

When I read your instructions I'm more confused as I have wires left over. :)
Also, does anyone know what the two red wires with connectors are for at the bottom of the humidifier?

Thanks Jay that did the trick. I honestly don't think Honeywell's instructions could have been more misleading, especially after watching the DVD that came with the install kit.

Glad to hear it is working.

I am looking at FIG. 7, and that is correct, but then I've been in the field, and understand how to read that.

I appreciate your illustration of the HE360A wiring -- I also found the instructions very confusing. Unfortunately, when I was attaching the last wire to the humidistat, the black wire on the humidistat broke off. I am in trouble or are there options other than purchasing a new humidistat?

You can get replacement humidistat at Home Depot, or on line.

Jay....I still don't think I have my wiring right. I have the HE360A, Humidstat, and Sail all mounted. Can't seem to figure out the wiring. the diagram doesn't quite match up to what I am seeing. First - what are the two red wires hanging out of the Humidifier? Are they unused in this scenario?
Second - does this seem like the correct wiring:
From the Sail to the Humidistate -- Red tied to Red
From the Sail to the Humidifier -- White tied to Yellow
From the Humidistat to the Humidifier -- White tied to Yellow
My wires are White/Red from the install kit
Humidistat is Black/Black -- not sure one matters over the other
Sail is White/Red -- White on top (common) and Red in Middle (Norm)
Humidifier -- two yellow, two red (with funky tips)

You do not use the red wire, or may damage something. Red is used for another type of control.
Second - does this seem like the correct wiring:
Yes, sounds like you got it wired up like on Fig.7. or my drawing in this post.
Is it not working?
Humidistat is Black/Black -- not sure one matters over the other.
It don't matter it's a switch.

I can't tell if its running. I hear the Humidstat pop when I turn the dial, I can hear the sail moving (and have seen it) in the duct, but the filter is not getting wet. So....my thought was either the wiring was goofed up or the sail is not triggering the switch to allow the water to flow.
Any thoughts on what could be root cause of water not flowing? I see water in the line (even got wet the first times I connected the line as it popped off at both ends at one time/another!).

What happens when you touch the two yellow wires together?
Is the unit plug into an regular outlet?

It's plugged into a power strip (other appliance is on same strip and is working).
touched two yellow wires together and nothing happens. Guessing that is not a good sign.
Also checked the black water tube. It is dry from the top to bottom. Pulled it off at both ends and no water inside.
So....makes me thing the control valve is not opening since I see water in the clear water line feeding the Humidifier.

Did you do anything with the Red wires??
If you have a meter, take a reading the yellow wire to see if you got 24 volts AC.

Originally I had the red wires poked into the plastic tab holders but that didn't seem correct so I undid it and found your recommendation....which led to our other thread. after that, they have just dangled in space.

If I get no reading.....time to take it back?

Maybe.. Make sure you got 120volts going to the board, and 24 volts from the transformer.
