Heat Pumps and Electric Heating - Outdoor Unit has ALOT of condensation underneath

Hey ya'll,

I have a question regarding my Outdoor Unit. I have a 3 yr old (down stairs) GOODMAN 5 ton A/C+Heat Pmp unit. Its winter, w/ temps ranging from 30 - 60 degrees daily.

I noticed that my Outdoor Unit has ALOT of water/condensation underneath it after running. Enough water that it pools on the ground. However, I also have a 2.5ton (upstairs) next to it that has a little condensation.

Is this normal, what is causing this??

That is not condensation. It's the melted ice from the unit. It is perfectly normal.

Normal! The defrost is causing this!

The reason I ask is the other reply seems to be alarming.
