i have a 18 hp briggs 2 cyl opposed engine in a mtd mower.
when i got it they had put on a electric fuel pump on but it caused the carb to leak so they disacembled the carb .i have a rebuild kit it has a 3 screw fuel pump .there is 2 rubber diafram gaskets and a narrow gasket out of reg.gasket matteral. do you know which side it goes on or if i use it. also should i remove electric pump? thank you

Starting with the cover, here is the order

Cover, gasket, diaphragm (solid one), pump body, pump spring, spring cap, check valve spring (upper, goes on pump body) pump diaphragm, check valve spring (Lower goes on carburetor body).

I may be able to dig up an illustration if you can't figure it out by my description, just let me know.

And yes...remove the electric pump. Don't allow the pump to come on once you've replaced the carb parts or you may wind up damaging the new diaphragm.
