I need some help with wiring. I am replacing a light above my shower with an exhaust fan and light.

The wiring from ceiling has just a black , white and ground wires. The new fan/light has 2 whites, black and a blue.

The switch on the wall just operated the light before, and I did not switch it out.

What else do I need to do to get the fan and light to turn on at the same time??

Thanks

My first suggestion would be to follow the installation instructions.

But I suspect that the correct connections are white from the ceiling to both whites from the fixture, and black from the ceiling to both the blue and black from the fixture. The grounding wire from the ceiling should be connected to the fixture where the instructions tell you to, perhaps to a green screw somewhere.

Is that how you connected it?

Note that if this is directly above the shower, it requires GFCI protection.

yeah, that is how I connected it. The light works, but the fan doesn't come on.

Not sure what to do next

Check your connections again.
