I'm adding a bathroom in my basement. I'm going to do all of the work besides the plumbing. I'm curious about the order in which I need to do the work. Here is what I'm planning and you let me know if I'm right or wrong,
1 - Electrical is already run.
2 - Plumb the room.
3 - Install shower (will be done by plumber).
4 - Tile the floors.
5 - Hang sheetrock.
6 - Paint the walls.
7 - Install baseboards.
8 - Install toilet and vanity.
9 - Install light fixtures.
10 - Hang drop ceiling.
I'd hate to get something out of order and really make it difficult for myself. Any help you guys can provide will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
mick

Your order does not seem too far off to me. The typical order after framing would be:
1. Plumbing - installing shower can usually be done during rough (insulate behind shower before installing)
2. HVAC - Did not see this on your list, need to address
3. Electric - since it's already done plumber/HVAC has to be more careful (if you did it yourself make sure you can not reach any switch from the shower, light over shower is rated for such use, and any receptacles are GFCI protected)
4. Insulate - be sure to get behind shower stall before plumber installs the unit.
5. Drywall - use moisture/mold resistant throughout
6. Tile
7. Prime walls
8. Install trim and doors - pre-finishing with primer and one coat of finish paint will make final paint easier
9. Install drop ceiling - be sure to use material made for humid environment, no steel grid
10. Final paint - I've always used semi-gloss on walls, ceiling and trim in bathrooms
11. Install plumbing fixtures
12. Install electrical fixtures
I hope this helps.

To add to Bill's comments, if at all possible, and if there are no overhead obstructions, I would highly recommend a sheetrock ceiling, mainly for the reasons he stated. The non rusting grid may cost more than you want to put into it, and a steel grid as well as non plastic coated panels will tend to rust and sag over time.

Something I forgot. If you do not have a window make sure to put in a fan for ventilation (this is a code issue). I would do this even if I had a window and have it tied into the shower light so when the shower light goes on the fan is on.
