After one year of use my solenoid seems to be malfunctioning. I've checked water valves for blockage, sail switch and all are working fine. I can hear the solenoid click but no water comes out. If I turn the humidistat dial off and on a few times I can get water to flow. As such, I am assuming it is the solenoid that is malfunctioning. Does anybody concur?

You are hearing the clicking on the valve right?

Have you undone the water line to be sure you have water? If you got water, then look for the screen and clean it if needed.

The plunger is inside the housing that in wrapped around the coil..

Have you undone the brass orifice? (where then screen goes inside)

before we take that apart, have you tried blowing in on the other side of the vale? (Outlet side)

What happens if you undo the rubber hose and blow into that?

When blowing into one side of the solenoid valve, I would assume that a user needs to make sure the valve would be set to the open position by making sure the sail switch and humidistat is in the on position, correct?

That is correct. Or they will be blue to their face.
