:wall:heres my problem, i have no lighting in my living room and would like to install lights , how do i get wire in the ceiling for a light fixture?

This will depend on the building. Is there an accessible attic above? Is there still capacity left on a nearby circuit that can be extended? Is the wiring grounded?

Sheetrock can easily be patched.

Try to pickup the book Wiring Simplified so you can gwet some ideas.

there is not attic above , i have to install a switch as well , and my ceiling is swirled

In your situation, it may be well worth it to you to hire a pro. Pros have dozens of tricks to run cable with minimal surface damage. Figuring out which tricks to use for which jobs can only be done when you can see the room.
