heat pump works fine , cold and heat but emerg. heat sw. does not activate coils , lights do come on at t-stat? I had variable motor replaced and noticed that tech did not write down all wire locations on control board before pulling all loose to change board that turned out to be still good. maybe he didn't put them all back right??? need diagram for control board for carrier air handler 14 ser. heat pump , 11 years old.

Model # of the air handler/furnace?

It could be that he left a wire off on the control board, we'll see what you got there when you post the model #.

air handler mod. fk4cnf003 carrier, ser # 4595a11744
also found out that the accumulator is leaking from rust on the bottom and needs to be replaced. The part is around 130.00 . how much should the labor and gas costs be in fla.??
thanks

On the aux heat you might have a bad sequencer or a bad coil itself, If you have a good voltage meter and are experienced and very careful someone might be willing to tell you how to check it. I will not since it has to be done energized and it is way to Dangerous for the inexperienced. On the accumulator that will be a expensive project if done correctly since the system will have to be evacuated and the old piece cut out a new accumulator brazed in along with a new liquid line filter drier and then the system vaccumed down leak checked then recharged and run tested. Anything less than $1,200.00 for a job done CORRECTLY would be a great price around here. You might be able to get it hacked in for less though if you are willing to roll the dice. It might work a day might work a week who knows?

what do you think Jay ?? is there any other way to replace the accumulator besides bending over the fan opening from the top down to the bottom. it was a build up of leaves that got me. they want 85.00 an hour , sounds stiff for an unemployed guy, me.
