Hi, Brand new to painting furniture.
I just saw in this months Country Liv. magazine products by Caromel Colors for distressing and barnwork looks. They have what they call "Textured Basecoats" and "Chipping Creme" which "creates a poor bonding layer between your Textured Basecoats, allowing you to remove the upper layer of Textured Basecoat in decorative patches..." Pretty expensive products, especially the paints (which they call text. basecoats).
Does anyone know how to do this on the cheap, some substitutes I can get at Home Depot or Lowes?
Hoping someone out there knows of an inexensive product that does the same thing as the chipping creme... like elmers or wallpaper paste does for crackling.
Thanks!!
