Hello,

I'm looking for aesthetic advice/opinions for a basement shower. We have installed a neo round shower base and are using mosaic tiles for the surrounding walls. We are trying to decide wether to tile past the glass shower surround by a few inches or just tile within the glass walls. The bathroom is quite small, but I'm thinking tiling past the shower walls will make the shower appear bigger, and this is what we're leaning towards. However, we're just trying to weigh both options before the tiling begins.

thanks

Hi johnnygreenboat,

There are aesthetic and technical considerations
Regarding the aesthetic, you must consider the impact of the color composition of tiles + walls--> for example, if your tiles a red wine color and your walls are white, don't tile over the shower borders, it will look "invasive". However if, for example, the tiles are tan and the walls are cream, and additional border will make the shower "appear".
You can get additional impact with a border of combining tile or a quarter round tile
Now, regarding the technical--> did you buy the glass door measuring from wall to wall, without tiles? if so, keep in mind that the tile thickness may complicate the door installation
