I have a goodman unit that is burning out transformers. the fan in the attic comes on and after about 1 minute the transformer smokes.. any ideas on issue?
everything I have checked on the web says that wires shorted would cause this, I have not been able to find any shorts doing a resistance check.

Something is drawing to much amperage. A short is obvious. But could also be a relay or contactor stuck that drwas over amps trying to close.
Break out the amp meter.
Also install an inline fuse. Fuses are cheaper than replacing transformers.

Be sure you're replacing with the correct VA rated transformer. Also check your input voltage to the transformer.
