I have dual gas hot-water heaters installed in parallel and no longer need the amount of hot water the system was set up to support. There are separate valves for cold water inlet and gas for each system. Is it sufficient to simply shut off the cold water and gas to one of the heaters to reduce the size of the system? I am concerned about the hot water outlet which does not have a shut off valve for either heater. Do I need to drain the unused tank to get only hot water from the other tank?
