I am planning a masonry chimney with clay liner to extend from a basement, and through two floors. I want a wood burning stove in the basement, and one on the ground level floor. Is there a problem sharing the same flue if it is of adequate size?

Unless I'm mistaken it is illegal to have a 'shared' flue. Each stove needs to have it's own flue - they can share the same chimney, just not the same flue.
