I'm trying to install a blackout blind to keep the light out. I have fabric verticle blinds and the valance clips only extend out from the metal rail about 1 and 1/4 inches. In order to fit my blackout blinds and have them hidden by the valance, i need deeper clips that would extend out 3 inches from the rail. I like these clear plastic clips (Laserlite V-3000) because they slide on to the top of the metal rail (that holds the verticle fabric blinds) but so far I have not been able to find deeper clips. They are L-shaped. I understand that I could just screw in separate valance clips but i'd like to find a better solution ie. deeper clips. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Valance clips are designed to hold the valance so that it hangs about 1/2" past the vanes when they are in the open position so you wont find other sizes. You'll have make something that will solve your problem.

Ditto on being creative. I'd nix the vertical blinds. Vertical and horizontal blinds are currently considered dated from a decorating view point, although many still prefer them for patio doors.
Install the black outs, and go with a different window treatment such as long flowing panels as a decorative touch. Rod can be mounted higher as needed (to give illusion of greater height) or wider (to give illusion of wider windows). Long, flowing panels are now hot.
