I have a large (6'x3') mirror in the bathroom that is attached to the wall by a bracket on the bottom of the mirror and the top (bracket runs the horizontal length of the mirror).

In a previous house, the top bracket was spring loaded so I popped it up and lifted the mirror out of the bottom bracket. The top bracket on this mirror doesn't appear to be spring loaded as I've taken a putty knife and pounded up on the bracket a few times.

Any guesses as to how this mirror can be removed?

Welcome to the forums! I would continue with your method, even if it means bending the top frame part to where it releases the mirror. If that fails, the mirror and frame may be glued to the wall. Removing it without breaking it may be a miracle. If you tape over the entire mirror with the blue painter's tape (to prevent shards from splintering off should the mirror break), try prying the edges with either a 5n1 tool or a broad blade putty knife. The glue will either pull the top coat of the sheetrock off as it releases or it will break the mirror. May be your only option. I'd still try the metal frame bending first.
