I have a 1978 Carrier gas furnace with a Honeywell L4064B fan control limit switch. The thermostat calls for heat, the burners fire up for about 30 seconds, then shut off. I've watched the dial on the limit switch rotate clockwise while the burners are on, then jump forward when it shuts off. I can turn the blower on with the auto/manual knob on the switch. Should I replace the limit switch?

Yes, replace the fan/limit switch. Make sure to get one with the same insertion length.

Thanks. I removed the old switch to check the length (11 1/2"). When I put it back, it started working again, but it's probably just a matter of time. I've ordered a new one. Thanks again.
