Can't remove the Sayco diverter stem from my shower. It just keeps spinning. Any suggestions other than tear out the tile and put in a whole new faucet system?

Are you sure you have removed all bushings etc that might be holding the stem in the faucet body?That would include any that might be behind the tile or behind the wall surface that would need a deep socket to reach.
