During the renovations to my bathroom, I have to relocate the existing toilet by 6". The piping under the toilet is lead which is flaired over the brass floor flange.
The local store suggested to cut off the lead pipe, and do my changes with ABS black pipe. They gave me an ABS flange which is similar to the brass flange the toilet was attached before. All I have to do is secure the ABS flange to the floor, install the wax ring on top and sit the toilet over.
I have never seen a toilet installation with an ABS flange. Is this flange appproved for residential applications?
Thank you
