Hello everyone,
we are purchasing new, more stylish lighting for the exterior of our home. We currently have 2 wall lanterns on either side of our front door, 2 wall lanterns on either side of our garage doors, and a post light. We will only be replacing the lights of our front door entry way and our post light; so can we take down our current lights on either side of our garage doors and cap the wires with nuts and then install siding where the lights are now (we do not have junction boxes in our walls) ?
Any input would be great, thanks!

You cannot bury live, or potentially live, wires. There are a number of possible options. Can you mount boxes facing the inside of the garage, thus making the wires accessible from the inside? Are there just one wire of each color in these boxes? If so, can you disconnect them at whatever box they come from?
