we just got a new home with a finished basement. however, it is very dark. the ceiling is drop, but we are afraid to fool with it with track lighting. has anyone every installed track lighting on a wall? we are thinking this is the best solution but unsure if it will work. any suggestions are welcomed. thanks

Welcome to the forums! Have you considered using eyeball flush can lighting? You can direct the light to the wall with the light installed in the ceiling. Mounting track lighting to the wall may not give the desired effects, unless what you want to accent is directly below the lights. With the cans, you can draw them back into the room a little, direct the light and they don't stick down.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess we are trying to stay away from the ceiling...afraid we may end up having to redo the whole thing if we mess it up. :-)

You won't mess up. We're here and there are alot of us to guide you through whatever you want to do. Installing can lighting in your drop ceiling is not that difficult, and face it, if you mess up, all you have to do is replace the ceiling tile piece you messed up.
