I think you might be able to help me. I am not sure how or if i am posting the right way. Any way i have a electric base board heater in my home and i would like to mount a T-Stat on the wall above instead of having to reach around the couch and turn up the dial on the base board unit. This units thermostat also operates a heater across the room. I have pulled the cover off the one with the T- Stat knob on it and have found two reds and to blacks. Now i have bought a t-stat from electric supply company that has two red and and two blacks of the same size coming out of it. My question is can i 1 Bypass the baseboard heater on board t -stat and just wire my wall mount to it. and have the walkl mount perform as the unit mounted on e did. Thanx for any help. Thou shalt P.S the unit is a 1250 watt Markel production base board heater

I can't see why not.
You have not asked any questions on how to do it yet, I see. Since you are uncertain of the fact of whether or not you could do this, I'm not sure you would know HOW to do it? Hopefully you know about single pole and double pole switches, running the proper size wire, and installing it properly, how to rejoin the correct wires in the baseboard heater after you disconnect the existing on-board stat wires, etc.
If you need help, I would recommend posting your needs in the electrical forum here. From what I have observed, they love posts about electric baseboard heaters there.

I guess my post came across the wrong way in a condescending way. I actually did not mean it to, but I can see how one could think that after I reread what I said.
I answered your question that you can.
But what I just didn't get is that if you were uncertain of THAT, then how might you know all the wiring basics? Not an unreasonable assumption.
And nothing wrong with me suggesting to post your needs at the electrical forum, that I can see. I was just trying to help. Sorry. It just came out wrong. I apologize.
