I am looking at an Anderson patio sliding door to install. I am looking for suggestions on what type of transitions are available.
Spec/Dimensions details:
Base height of door frame is 2" from OSB floor
Hardibacker (.25") + mortar (.25") + tile (.25) = .75" total
Therefore, I'll have a 1.25" to deal with and need some type of transition. The Home Depot guy on his computer indicates a transition (rise type piece) but yet can't supply any dimensions :wall: or info (it sure would help me set and finish my Tile).
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
Any help appreciated :D

Normally, you set tile to within a 1/8" or so of the slider, then caulk that joint with caulk that matches your grout.

I think I understand. The Andersen door has a pretty high sill. Some people always thought it might be a trip hazard, but you sort of automatically step over it.
Andersen makes standard oak thresholds that are.. hmmm...about 3" wide x 3/4" thick or so. Maybe an ADA threshold would be thicker, haven't ever seen one though.
I've used oak 1/4 round snug up to the door and floor joint, just as a bit of decoration and to cover up some of the sill.
