This is a 1920 Baltimore rowhouse. When it was built there were only fireplaces to heat the house and when they added a natural gas furnace and water heater they ran the exhaust vent up through the fireplace and covered the front of the fireplace. I want to expose the fireplace which means I have to move the exhaust. I am going to run it up beside the drywall and use metal venting the whole way and enclose it with drywall. My question is should I insulate the metal venting?

Thank you.
