We have 200 cm x 300 cm (78" x 117") Plexiglas panels which we are planning on using in a new house. Anyone have the perfect way to adhere the panels to smooth concrete walls and floors to create clear glass-like walls. We do not want to cut into the concrete and we will not use any wood moldings. Adhesives, invisible, are the only options we like, but what works well and is invisible when cured? thanks:wall:

Hi ibiza18,
The concrete and the plexiglass have different deformation values under temperature and vertical deformation--> this means that the plexiglass needs a space to expand, even if you install it after the concrete's cure. Specially with panels of 2M x 3M
Assuming you'll be pouring the concrete using forms with the openings (to avoid the cuts), I'd suggest the use of forms including a small wood "U" molding--> this "U" molding (less than 1cm) will remain inside the concrete so you can install the plexiglass very easily --> seal it with transparent silicone--> it will be safe and this will allow the material expansion

Hi Ibiza,
Just wanted to add a comment or two, not trying to be negative, just provide another opinion. Plexiglas on a floor, doesn't sound like it will hold up very well. Even on a wall, just wiping the dust off of it will scratch it.
That said, if you still want to do it, gluing two large surface areas together it will be near impossible to get the air bubbles all out. Back painting the plexiglas whatever color you want before you glue it up will eliminate the need for a transparent adhesive and avoid any air bubble problems.
