I have included images of front of house. Foyer looks through arched windows in den. Dining room to left and office to right off foyer.
17' from fireplace hearth to wall with green and gold chair
16' from short wall facing foyer beside bookcase to arched windows
11'9" wall with angled door to breakfast room behind green and gold chair
With all the open space, angled door, how should this room be arranged? The tv sits in the bottom unit of the bookcase nearest the arched window. The tv is in front of the raspberry swivel chair that is turned towards cabinet.
2. Second decision: What would look best on the wall behind the green and gold chair. The decorator had put 3 oil paintings on the wall but I felt they were fighting with each other. I bought the mirror thinking that all rooms should have a mirror but it does not have to be used. I had thought about a 24" minimum sconce beside the mirror on each side but maybe a grouping of pictures to the extreme left.
The pictures the decorator hung together were the red orange flower framed in black, the street scene (blues, mauves, etc) and the picture that is now beside the cabinet behind the sofa in the den. Link for assortment of pictures that can be used or not at all are listed below.
3. I had also bought a large 7'6" silk tree that filled in the space nicely but then if I use this what should go beside it? The picture of the tree is linked below with the pictures.
4. Link to pictures and tree photos are at the top of the page.
I really need help in this area.
Also, would you put up panels beside the arched windows?
Would you cover a table in fabric between the raspberry chairs?
Thank you so very much in advance for all your help in designing this room to be warm and inviting rather than looking like furniture was just placed to fill up a space.

Hi MamaJenn,
The pictures' links don't work. You can upload your pictures to Photobucket, for example and paste the link.
A sketch of the floor plan will be useful too

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/tomylake/DSCN0800.jpg This is the second original piece of artwork
http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/tomylake/DSCN0802.jpg This is the 3rd original piece of artwork. This has been moved beside the hutch on wall behind the sofa
http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/tomylake/DSCN0803.jpg This is the silk tree that was behind green leather chair with the mirror which I will show you later, but I did not know what to put in between tree and mirror or to the mirror's right
http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr77/tomylake/DSCN0794.jpg Shows the mirror. It is 36" tall x 34" wide

I hope these work. If they don't then I don't know how to work this stuff.
Again thanks for your help. It is getting awfully late and I will try to sketch out the room tomorrow, scan and send. That is the only way that I know that I can do that.
Thanks again. Jen
