Does anyone have experience with Telwin mig Welders? Any comments? How do they compare to other brandnames?

Wish I could help you. I've been welding for 35 years. Lincoln and Miller are the only welders I have ever used. Hope some one else can help.

I have never heard of Telwin as well but a quick search shows that those welders are made in Italy.
It appears to be a large company that manufacturers its welders in Italy and ships world wide.
They appear to be like a similar company ESAB who originated in Sweden and due to success in North America now have manufacturing plants here.
TELWIN welding machines: MIG/TIG/MMA welders, plasma cutting systems, spot welders and battery chargers - starters (http://www.telwin.com/webtelwin/prodotti.nsf)
As far as to the quality of the machines I would guess compared to similar machines in the same price bracket they are likely ok.
A concern I would have is that a welder is a long term investment for most folks who normally don't buy them to replace any time soon like some consumer products.
My opinion is that unless what you are looking at is selling for a near give-away price, I personally would stick with major North American brands.
Lincoln, Miller or Hobart, which the last two are now the same company have been around forever and are likely to remain so.
You could find in a couple of years when you need to purchase consumables for an offshore brand you might be out of luck.
I have a twelve year old MM-150 that has all replacement parts sitting on the shelf of my rural dealer.
Curious to know who would be selling them and what model and price are you looking at?
