We've installed 5 new baseboards in our home, and all but one have worked without problem. The one in my daughter's room, although working, is barely trickling heat out. We thought it was a problem with the heater itself, since the others all worked well, so we replaced it, to no effect. We tried replacing the thermostat, and that too failed. We're at a bit of a loss now - it's obviously getting power, since it is releasing some heat, but what could cause it to release so little?

My hubby is also wondering if setting up a manual thermostat on the heater instead of using a wall mounted one could possibly help? Of the other 4 we installed, 2 were manual and 2 were wall thermostats.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Is the new baseboard rated at 220?

Check for power coming into the baseboard heater, and see if you are getting 220 volts.

After checking for proper voltage at the heater and verifying that the unit you have matches turn off the power and check the ohms on the two black wires to the heater itself. It should be around 30 ohms. If it is a lot more like around 350 ohms or something you have a bad heater and will need to swap it out.
