Here is the kitchen in our new house, the colors are just wrong , is there any way to make it bigger?

Everything is painted, so just repaint to suit your needs. Eggshell washable on the walls, oil based enamel on the cabinets. Clean all thoroughly with TSP.

The small opening between the kitchen and the dining room is not helping--> convert it into an arch / alcove --> use this opening to set an island with a bar
