Hi,
I have a Husky Y6020 air compressor that has been running fine for several years and all of a sudden it will not build up pressure beyond 90psi. The cut off pressure is supposed to be 150psi and the cut in pressure is 120psi so the motor never shuts off.
It seems like it would be a gasket of some type that is blown because if I switch it off once it gets to 90 psi manually I do not hear any air leaking anywhere and it will hold the pressure for quite a few hours. I have an exploded diagram of the compressor unit and without taking things apart I see that there is a 'head gasket' which is between the head and the valve plate assembly.
Any other ideas out there before I take it apart and what I should be looking for?
Also if you know where I can get parts for this compressor could you let me know? I have searched hi and lo for husky compressors but it appears that it is rebranded by porter cable? The part number for the gasket is z-d24819 and many parts sites show this as a part for a porter cable, the images that some sites show for the part is the same as the one that my limited literature that I recieved with the compressor shows?
Thanks
Wayne

I have just taken the cover off the compressor and noticed that the tube was loose inside the head. I took the head off and the tube seal is broken, found parts with ereplacement parts.com and will replace the piston o-ring (part number ssg-8169), tube seal (part number cac-1212) and head gasket (part number z-d24819).
Hopefully I should be back up and running in as soon as the stuff gets here. Just thought I would reply to my own post just in case anybody else gets a similar problem. This one is a pretty easy fix, I wish all my problems were this easy to fix :-)
