I have an old mont.wards standing drill press thats works well but the table doesnt crank up and down, it is released in the back by a screw and is supposed to slide bbbuuuttt no go. what is the best way to get this to work well ??? or is there a way to modify it to accept a crank-gear type? Thanks for reading..Dave Gale

It might be stuck by rust. Try spraying penetrating oil on it, let it set awhile and gently whack it with a rubber mallet.
