Our hot water heater is leaking out the bottom. The basement was like a sauna and the cold water ,copper pipes are sweating like crazy, but the Pex pipe is not. I turned the tank to warm and kicked on the air cond, because the whole house became very hot..... It's a 5 year Richmond that's 12 years old,so I know it's time to replace.....I don't have a floor drain. Is there a way to drain this tank without the hose having to stay flat? Is it normal to have all this pipe condensation and heat? My wife is freaking out,she thinks the tank is going to blow up.

You turned the tank to warm and not off? Please turn it off completely. No wonder your wife is nervous. Shut the valve and empty it even if you have to use buckets. If you have a wet vac, you could use that to suck up the water.
