I took down 3 bathroom mirrors that were glued to the wall with mirror mastic, and i'd like to reuse them.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get the blobs of mastic off the back of the mirror without ruining the mirror coating?
They don't have to be perfectly gone, but enough that i can rehang the mirror flat with new mastic....
thanks
jason

Hi jasonmolinari,
If you intend to reuse the mirrors, I'd suggest that to avoid the mastic remotion--> instead, you can try to fill (with new mastic) the remaining spaces at the back of the mirrors

Hrm..that would be a lot of mastic...there are only about 8-10 blobs on a rather large mirror...it would probably be harder to fill in all the spaces...

In this case, try to set the new mastic points with the same thickness of the older ones

Yup, that was going to be my goal..but i wanted to remove at least a little bit of the old ones to even them out.
I might try a dremel grinder...
