I have a Maytag dishwasher Model # MDB7100AWG that has water leaking from the bottom of the door. This does not happen all the time but it may appear to be occuring more often now. can anyone identify with thsi and what can be done to fix it withoug calling out a repairman and spending over $100.00.

I have the same problem, and it IS getting worse
I was going to try a new door gasket, but then I could see that the plastic body is warped, so it does not meet up properly with the door anymore. Nice. :madhell: Not a quality product.

hello,

I have one of these models and replaced the gasket. About $23 from an appliance store, or look online for one of the appliance parts websites. After I replaced the gasket, which is super easy, it stopped leaking. Then I got the recall notice that was going out on alot of the Maytags. And guess what -the recall part kit had a new gasket in it! I wouldn't let the repairman install the new gasket, since I had just replaced it, so now I have a spare. the guy was kind of a smart A$$, and said I shouldn't have replaced it in the first place, that all I needed to do was tighten up the latch on top of the door. but you know what it doesn't leak anymore, so I'm happy with the gasket replacement.

One other possible cause of leakage is the gasket around the the hook that closes the detergent door has failed. You should be able to tell what is the cause of the leak is by where the puddle is. If is on either side of the door, it is the door gasket. If it is somewhere in the middle, it is the detergent door gasket. that is a little tricky to replace, i understand, but doable by a diyer.

and do check the maytag site, to see if your dishwasher has been recalled. if so, they'll fix the gasket for you at no charge.
