I have a artesian toilet that was installed about 30 yrs ago. Im replaceing it. The bolt measures barely 11 inches from some one eighth inch paneling and then half inch drywall then the stud. Im not sure what the rough in is.

Am I measuring from the studs or from the finished wall to the toilet bolt for the rough in of the toilet? I know i cant measure from the studs litterally but i have heard some people actually say that,so im not sure.

Measure from the finished wall to the center of the waste pipe which should be were the bolts are.

The measurements you stated add up to 11 5/8 in. The rough in standard is 12 inches.

I dont know how you added up 115/8 inches but whatever.I measured between 10 1/2 to 11 inches from the finished wall to the toilet bolt. I know you're trying to help me,but you cant see the measurement. I guess there are 10 inch rough ins .Im wondering if there are 11 inch rough ins also.

I would get the 10". I don't think they make an 11" and if they do, your are cutting it close. It's better to have a little space than to have the tank jammed up against the wall.
