Hello,

I have installed a Concord 4 panel.

I also have DSL for my internet over the phone line.

Now that I have the phone line running through the panel for monitoring, I am getting a backgroup static in the phone. It is sometimes difficult to hear the conversation. If I turn off the DSL / wireless router the static goes away and the line is perfectly clear. I did not have this problem prior to installation of the Concord 4.

I have also installed a DSL filter where my phone plugs into the wall to try and filter the noise from my phone. It did not work.

Does anyone have any ideas for a solution?

You need the alarm specific model of the DSL filter:

Also, check your connections where the alarm pone line ties into your house lines, sometimes excessively long wire strips will create shorts and grounds that will throw noise onto phone lines.

I have the [U]exact[U] same problem as you are experiencing on my recently installed residential Concord 4 (replacement for older system). Your posting was so eerie -- I could have written it myself.

I visited the Excelsus site concerning the specific filter Ron recommended, and got a message that I had to be a security dealer to acquire the filter.

Could you relate your purchasing procedure? As well, any other goodies you think might be helpful. Finally, how is your Concord 4 system for you?

Thanks, in advance.

Websearch using the phrase "Alarm DSL filter". In the first 5-6 hits you will find several dealers that will happily sell you one for about 20-30 dollars.
