I got a Dakota drive way detector a while back. Does not work well as 9 volt battery runs dead each month and also sometimes it just does not sound the alarm in the house when a car passes by the drive. We have a 1/8 mile long dirt road going to the house. I need a wireless unit if at all possible. Any suggestions. If required, I guess I could have an electrician hook up a wired unit. But it is about 80 yards from the house where I want the monitor. Any suggestions on a wireless (or wired) driveway detector. This is a priority and I will pay for the best. If only I could find out what that is.

It's got about a 100 -150 foot range through most walls.

You should try the "Reporter"
I have one and it works great, batteries will last well over a year. I give it a 5 star rating. Never had a problem with it.
Radio Shack sells them.
Smart home also....
