Got some brouchures from Lutron the other day. Looking at their automated light stuff. Also saw some automatic blinds. Open/close with a remote control. Anyone heard/seen these? Any thoughts welcomed.

Yes, I know of them. What exactly did you need to know?

They're pricey, but if you can afford them, they can be very convenient for large, heavy shades/blinds and for very tall or high up or awkwardly placed windows that are hard to reach.

For regular windows and standard size blinds, I don't think they're necessary unless there's a physical reason for needing them.

I was curious how they worked. Are they a high quality item that will last or something that is known for quirks and problems. I like the idea, but not sure how well they work. We have a tall (9') window that is oval shaped and the light makes it impossible to watch tv in the day time. Thought the auto blinds would be pretty cool for that problem area, but have no idea what they are like or cost. Not even sure where to buy them. Any thoughts appreciated.

They work well. I haven't heard of any problems.
Cost depends on the size and style of the blind. You can get them with battery, electric or computer operated remote, so obviously the battery would be cheapest. For the cheapest blind for a small window it will probably run about a couple hundred dollars. Yes, they're pricey.
Any one or any place that sells blinds should be able to supply them for you.

Thanks for the thoughts. I will check into some local blind stores.
