The kitchen is being measured for corian. First time home owner. Any suggestions? Anything I should ask about? We are doing the corian sink too. I guess it will be smooth with the corian counters. Looking at bull nose trim, but have never seen any corian to know much about it. I assume back splashes are standard. No options were listed on the Dupont site. We have a normal kitchen if you will, with a large island in the middle with a down draft cook top. Installing a new Jenn Air 30" model to replace the older unit. Looking at the large D shaped single sink. Just thought I would ask for any suggestions/warnings. Big investment for us and I hope to be pleased with the results.

Nothing is standard!!! You should ask and know what you are getting and the cost, in writing. Backsplash, 4" or full, edge treatments(square, eased, contoured, multilayer, etc.). You should have at least seen samples for color selection. A real showroom would be even better.

Nice Looking Kitchen.
We replaced our old countertops (tile) to corian about three years ago. Very practical and was everything it claimed.
I will be replacing it next year with granite.
IMHO....
A little more work for upkeep but the beauty of the granite makes corian look cheap.
Your resale will be higher and is considered the "update" standard although our friend says quartz is a close second (a recent neighbor is a realtor)
Basically, a few weeks since we put it in, we have had "buyers remorse".
Granite transforms a kitchen from a rather plain (corian) space to a magnificent area......
At least in our area (central florida) granite is cheaper than corian now.
Whatever you decide,,,,hope you remain happy with it.

Corian(solid surface), there are other solid surface manufacturers besides duPont. Once installed there is little maintenance, no visible seams, but there are restrictions about placing hot pots, cutting on the surface(repairable), etc. Will not stain, with limitations, as with most materials. Damaged areas can be repaired and barely visible.
Granite: Random color, you must select the exact piece for your top, samples don't count. Usually requires periodic seal to prevent staining. It will have a joint somewhere. It is usually beautiful, resists cutting damage very well, can break if something heavy is dropped.
If you prefer granite, consider a man made granite, no maintenance, may be a seam, consistant color.
