I am remodeling the kitchen in my basement. It currently has a single sink in it with a faucet that is curved up like a shepherds crook and a hot and cold turn on each side. I would like to know how hard it would be and what would be involved to cut a larger hole and install a double sink down there. Can anyone tell me if this is a huge job and I need to hire a plumber or if my husband and son could do it? Thanks:confused:

Hi!

could you tell us what your countertop is made out of now?

Is there a drawer under the area where a double sink would be?

Some basic solder skills would be required to get the plumbing done, but that's not too difficult if you have copper.

Hi jeannew,

Sinks and fixtures replacement can be easy DIY projects, or can be a nightmare, depending of the materials you chose (counter, sink, faucet, etc) and the plumbing skills of your husband :D

Here is a good How-to tutorial to start
